Accessibility Statement
Nfin8 Hearts
Effective date: August 14, 2025
Serving Northwest Indiana & Chicagoland (Indiana & Illinois)
Our commitment
We create spaces where kids and grown-ups can slow down, play, and really see each other. That only works if everyone can take part. We’re committed to accessible events and a usable website for people of all abilities.
Scope (website + events)
This statement covers our website (built on Google Sites) and the family events we host at schools, churches, parks, and community venues.
Standards we strive for
Website: We’re working toward WCAG 2.1 AA where our platform allows (clear headings, alt text, good contrast, keyboard access, descriptive links).
Events: We plan layouts, staffing, and pacing so families with different mobility, sensory, and communication needs can participate.
Note: Google Sites has some limitations (e.g., limited control of certain code). When the platform falls short, we’ll offer an equivalent alternative on request.
Event accessibility (what to expect)
Accessible route & space: We aim for clear, step-free routes, ~36" wide paths, and flexible station layouts.
Seating & rest areas: Chairs available; a quiet/low-sensory zone on request.
Service animals: Welcome.
Sensory considerations: We avoid strobes; volume is kept reasonable; staff can lower volume or pause a game. Ear defenders available on request (limited supply).
Communication & pacing: Simple instructions, visual cues, and “opt-in” choices at each activity.
Restrooms & parking: We coordinate with hosts for accessible parking and restroom access; let us know what you need.
Requesting accommodations
Tell us what helps your family enjoy the event—we’ll adapt. For interpreters or printed/large-print materials, please reach out 5 business days in advance if possible.

Website features & alternatives
Images: Alt text on meaningful images.
Headings & links: Clear, descriptive structure.
Color/contrast: Tested for readability.
Keyboard: We aim for keyboard-friendly navigation.
Video: Short clips; captions/transcripts provided when content includes speech.
PDFs: We prefer web pages; if a PDF isn’t accessible, we’ll provide the content in another format on request.
If any page is hard to use, email us and we’ll get you the info another way (plain email, phone, large print).
Third-party tools we use
We rely on services like HubSpot (forms), Google (Sites/Analytics), Square (payments), and GoFundMe (donations). Their accessibility may vary; if a tool gives you trouble, we’ll offer an alternative path (phone/email invoice, downloadable form, etc.).
Staff training
Our team is trained to:
Offer assistance with consent,
Use plain language and visual cues,
Adjust volume/tempo, and
Keep routes and exits clear.
Feedback & issue reporting
If something isn’t working for you, tell us—we’ll fix what we can and offer an immediate alternative.

Indiana & Illinois notes
We follow applicable accessibility and public accommodation laws in Indiana and Illinois and the spirit of the ADA. If we’re at your venue, we’ll coordinate with site staff to meet local requirements and your building’s policies.
Continuous improvement
We review this statement at least once a year and after major site or program changes.
